Solution: Culligan Sand Separator + 20″ Big Blue Filter
Often a well will pump up heavy loads of sand and silt that can settle in your tubs and showers. Depending on the amount of sand entering your home, one, or a combination of these systems will get the job done.
A Sand Separator.ย This device installs in the line between the well head and the pressure tank and spins the water around in a helical motion and acts like a centrifuge to remove sand particles, which are then manually flushed from a flush valve at the bottom of the device on a regular basis.ย Here is a picture of a recently installed Sand Separator.
A 20โ BB (Big Blue) cartridge filter with a DGD-2501 cartridge.ย It would install in your main water line, either out at the well or at the house, and will filter out particles down to 1 micron in size.ย When the filter gets clogged up with sand, you open up the housing, dump the sand and the old filter out, and put in a new filter.ย Here is a picture of a recently installed 20″ Big Blue Filter.
